§ 12-658. Grounds for refusal to issue or renew permit.
The chief of police may refuse to approve issuance or renewal of a wrecker permit for one or more of the following reasons:
(1)
The making of any false statement as to a material matter in an application for a permit or permit renewal.
(2)
Conviction of the permittee, applicant, or an employee of the permittee or applicant of a violation of a provision of this article.
(3)
Revocation of a permit, pursuant to this article, issued to the applicant, or any partner or corporate officer of the applicant, within three years of the date preceding application.
(4)
If the applicant has been convicted of a felony or other offense involving moral turpitude.
(5)
Failure to respond to three consecutive calls, unless the permittee's wrecker is disabled or on another call.
(6)
Causes undue damage to vehicles towed or exhibits any act of carelessness in the operation of a wrecker business.
(7)
Fails to maintain insurance as provided for in section 12-623.
(8)
Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this article or the rules and regulations established by the chief of police pursuant to section 12-656.
