§ 12-733. Storage facility.

  • All yards or storage areas for damaged wrecked, disabled and towed vehicles shall comply with the following provisions:

    (1)

    It shall comply with all city zoning regulations;

    (2)

    It shall have a capacity of at least 15 vehicles;

    (3)

    It shall be enclosed by a fence at least six feet in height that complies with the applicable requirements in sections chapter 10, article XI of this Code;

    (4)

    It shall be equipped with a gate that is capable of being locked and the storage facility shall be locked when unattended;

    (5)

    It shall have adequate lighting to deter vandalism and theft, provided that all lighting must be full cut-off and contained on-site in accordance with article VII of the Unified Development Code;

    (6)

    It shall be licensed under the Vehicle Storage Facility Act, V.T.C.A., Occupations Code § 2303.001 et seq., and comply with the guidelines promulgated by the state department of labor and standards;

    (7)

    It shall have an adequate indoor parking area which shall be available for the storage of any vehicle at the request of the city police department.
