§ 12-784. Administration; permit issuance, inspection, compliance and enforcement standards.
(a)
The city manager or his designee is hereby authorized to issue a child care center permit in the city when he finds that the permit applicant has complied with the requirements of this article and other applicable sections of this Code. He shall cause the child care center to be inspected not less frequently than semiannually to ensure that the facilities, grounds, and equipment are maintained in compliance with this article and in a safe and sanitary condition for the welfare of the occupants and patrons of the child care center. He shall cause reports of inspections to be kept on file in a department of the city of his designation and issued to the child care center, along with appropriate directives to resolve deficiencies observed in the inspections. He or his designee shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this article and to issue citations for violation of any of its provisions.
(b)
The operator of the child care center shall operate the facility in compliance with the provisions of this article and other applicable sections of this Code, and shall respond within the specified schedule of time when any deficiency or violation has been identified by the city manager or his designee.
