§ 22-4. Temporary habitation in a public place prohibited.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for any person to lodge, to live in for a time, or to take temporary habitation in any portion of a public park, culvert, or drainage way, or underneath a viaduct or bridge over any public roadway within the city. Evidence of lodging or temporary habitation shall include, but not be limited to, bedrolls, mattresses, blankets, cooking utensils, clothing, or any other personal belongings.
(b)
It is an exception to an offense under section (a) that the person is seeking temporary shelter during a verified tornado.
(c)
It is an exception to an offense under section (a) if the temporary habitation in a public park is part of a city sponsored or approved event (i.e. Family Campout in the Park).
