§ 26-291. Unauthorized installation.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person other than the city traffic director or his duly authorized representative, acting pursuant to an ordinance or resolution of the city, to install or cause to be installed any signal, sign or device purporting to direct the use of the streets or the activities on those streets by pedestrians, vehicles, motor vehicles or animals. In any prosecution of violation of this chapter, the manual or any other traffic ordinance of the city, proof that any traffic control device, sign, signal or marking was actually in place on any street in conformance with the manual shall constitute prima facie evidence that the same was installed by the city traffic director pursuant to the authority of this chapter.
