§ 36-23. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Business entity means a sole proprietorship, partnership, firm, corporation, holding company, joint-stock company, receivership, trust, or any other entity recognized by law.

    Motor vehicle means a self-propelled vehicle.

    Motor vehicle business means any business the primary purpose of which is the repair of motor vehicles.

    Motor vehicle in need of repair means a motor vehicle which is brought to or in the possession of a motor vehicle business for the primary purpose of repairing the motor vehicle.

    Owner means the owner of any real property on which a motor vehicle business is located.

    Store or storage means the keeping or retaining of property for a period of time longer than 30 continuous minutes.

    Street means the width between the boundary lines of a publicly maintained way any part of which is open to the public for vehicular travel.

    Vehicle means a device that can be used to transport or draw persons or property on a highway.
